Before transforming into the ever-growing footwear retailing market today, May Kee Brothers Sdn. Bhd., which housed the Red Modani brand, started out as a clothing business in 1985. Formerly known as Hock Seng Trading Company, it was restructured and became a private limited company 4 years later. Soon after, the company decided to tap on the footwear industry, in the hopes of generating more business.
In 1994, the company’s name was slightly altered to May Kee Brothers (Shoe) Sdn. Bhd. to enhance its grip on the footwear market. This marked the turning point of the company.
